How Can I keep from Crying

We've had a week of dancing bliss
The music's now abating
I think of all I'm going to miss
It's truly devastating
And as we dance the final set
With cheerful hugs goodbying
And part from dear friends that we've met
How can I keep from crying

The pub night jokes alarmed some folks
Filled them with racy notions
We learned "Swing low Sweet Chariot"
With appropriate motions
And at the auction everyone
Exravagantly buying
How can I leave all of this fun
How can I keep from crying

With music grand and loving friends
It is a great temptation
To just stay here until next year
Extending our vacation
You say you'll come again next year
I know you are not lying
But work and plans may interfere
How can I keep from crying

Our memories are of dancing friends
And music's magic potion
Of canyon walls and waterfalls
And sunsets on the ocean
Now all our friends will go I guess
To their homes they'll be hieing
And I am left with lonliness
How can I keep from crying
