On some days, the smoke in the valley was so thick that the sky went from intense cyan to brownish-orange. The effects that the smoke was having on my photography and breathing were starting to discourage me, when I noticed this reflection off of the Merced River from Stoneman Bridge. The reflected diffuse sunlight almost has the appearance of fire.
