One way of learning about the settlement of an area is to go poking around its graveyards. The graveyard in Yosemite is the final resting place for people ranging from those who first settled the park in the 1800s to some who died earlier this century. This is one of the few classical headstones to be found in the cemetary. Most of the headstones were either names in granite stones or made of wood.
